POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring we meet the highest standards for product and part quality and compliance with technical specifications by conducting inspections, tests, and audits identifying non-conformities to quality standards. Their expertise ensures we deliver superior products to our customers.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supplier (Parts) Quality: Perform incoming inspections utilizing various tools, instruments, and equipment to conduct functionality testing to identify any non-conformities. Ensure consistent adherence to all quality control procedures, standards, and guidelines. This includes new parts and customer returned pieces.

  • Quality Documentation and Standards: Record and document inspection results accurately and thoroughly. Prepare detailed reports highlighting non-conformities, deviations, and areas of improvement. Maintain process documentation logs and paperwork for non-conforming and returned parts/materials. Ensure all supplier certifications, in-house testing records, and related quality documentation is accurately maintained and current.

  • Quality Control: Perform stock sweeps to ensure stock parts meet quality standards. Quarantine discrepant parts as required. Work with cross-functional teams to drive timely dispositions, including deviations. Collaborate with suppliers and manage materials returned to suppliers for repair, alteration, or replacement.

  • Root Cause Analysis: Assist with quality issue investigations and identify underlying causes of defects or non-conformities to remedy and prevent/mitigate recurrence.

  • Measure: Track and analyze Supplier performance data such as defect rates or delivery delays and communicate findings to Procurement and Quality team for appropriate actions.

  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned and receiving clerk duties as assigned back-up.


Required
:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. A degree or certification in a relevant technical field is preferred


Work-Related Experience
:

  • 3 years proven experience in industrial inspection or quality role, preferably within manufacturing or supply chain environment.

  • ASQ CQI a plus but not required


Skills, knowledge, abilities (e.g., software proficiency, interpersonal and communication skills, language):

  • Solid understanding of inspection techniques, quality control principles, and relevant industry standards. Familiarity with a quality management system is desirable.

  • Proficient in reading engineering drawings, use of tolerances, and use of CAD software for drawing access

  • Proficiency with inspection tools, measurement devices, and familiarity with software used in quality control (e.g., calipers, micrometers, Excel, CAD)

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate inspection results, non-conformities, and quality-related information to internal teams and suppliers.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing inspections, measurements, and documentation. Proficient in analyzing data, identifying trends, and drawing conclusions.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes, propose corrective actions and work collaboratively to implement solutions.

  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment, interacting with colleagues, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple inspections, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

  • Computer Proficiency: All Office 365 elements. Experience with ERP and CAD a plus.


Physical Requirements
: This position works in a typical warehouse setting. There may be extended periods of standing, walking, lifting and/or bending; listening, talking and/or visual concentration; writing and/or computer use. This position would normally have routine opportunities to alter physical position or change eye focus. Lifting should not normally exceed 50 pounds.
